Still known as the New Line, the Surbiton to Guildford route was a late comer to the railway map, being only a little over 100 years old. Continuing to be largely a rural line, most of the original architecture survives. This is fully illustrated, as is the evolution of the trains serving this route, as well as the much older branch to Hampton Court.
